This program is directed at young people between the age of 18-35 who would
like to move and work in a foreign country, for the purpose of improving their
language skills and learning more about the culture and customs of the host
country. This program offers financial self-sufficiency during the stay, and participants
benefit from constant use of the language with fellow workers and clients.
Participants in this program will only depart for a placement when the position
and start date has been confirmed, all conditions have been defined and
accommodation has been arranged.
The participants should remember that this is a work program, and therefore
assume responsibilities and must conduct themselves in a professional manner as
they would while working in their own country. Participants should be serious,
mature and responsible.
Depending on the position, the language level needed varies. In general,
participants with a low level will not be able to choose jobs dealing with the
general public.
Working hours are normally 40 hours per week with two days off. Generally,
the company will facilitate the attendance to language courses, although they
are not obliged to do so.
Some companies may offer
accommodation, but this is mainly related to jobs in the hotel and restaurant
sector.
Participants will be given the same conditions, rights and obligations as a
native worker. The legislation of the host country must be respected at all
times.
Although most jobs are linked to the hotel and catering business there are
also opportunities in other sectors such as: administration, graphic design,
nursing, etc.
